The 2021 Yamaha 125 draws its power from the BS6 engine and a hybrid assist connected to the automatic transmission via a V-belt.

Japanese automaker Yamaha has unveiled its new generation Rayzr 125 scooter in India. The Japanese manufacturer today launched the new Rayzt hybrid scooter series with an entry-level price of Rs 76,830 ex showroom. Yamaha launches Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid for Rs 77,830 and Street Raly 125 Hybrid for Rs 77,830. Both scooters will receive comprehensive updates such as LED headlights, LED taillights, connectivity and hybrid engine by 2021.    

The upcoming Rayzr hybrid continues to be powered by a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection and additional hybrid assistance. The overall design of the RayZr will not change much from the hybrid version of the motorcycle to a new livery and updated graphics. The biggest change in scooters is the addition of Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which adds functionality through the introduction of the hybrid system, said Yamaha.    

The technology and advanced features of the scooter include fuel injection system, intelligent generator engine, start-stop technology, CBS technology and side stand engine shutdown system. The Yamaha Ray ZR-125 has a start-stop function, side stand and engine shutdown, 2.1-liter underseat hide-away and digital instrument cluster. Equipped with disc brakes, the RayzR 125 Hybrid and RayZR Street Rally 125 Hybrid come with connectivity as standard.    

The integrated features of the Rayzr 125 FI Hybrid and the windshield variant of Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid, including side stand and engine shutdown, are standard and mandatory on all Yamaha motorcycles in India. Other similarities between the two models are the standard equipment of all Yamaha 2-wheelers in India: through-hole switches, LED lighting, power steering, multi-function key, seat opener, wide 110mm rear tires and large 2.1 litre seats. Other features available to Yamaha RayzR 125 FI and Street Rally 12.5 FI 2021 variants include side stands, ignition switch, overtaking switch, lead position indicator, power assist indicator, multifunction buttons, seat opener, 110mm rear tire cross section and larger 2. 1-litre seat for storage.

The scooter is equipped with a BS6 compliant 125cc air-cooled fuel injection engine that delivers 808bhp at 6500rpm and 103Nm at 5000rpm and uses CVT to power the floor. The new Rayzr 125 Fi Hybrid and Street Rally 125 FI Hybrid draw their power from the same air-cooled fuel injection system, the Fi 125 cc Blue Core, which delivers 82 bhp from 6,500 rpm and 103 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.
